DSWD provides P163.84M aid for STS Kristine victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided over P163.84 million in humanitarian aid to those affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine as of October 26.

As of Monday morning, DSWD-5 reported nearly PHP150 million worth of relief assistance to families in the Bicol region, with PHP147.4 million distributed so far.

The distribution includes family food packs, gallons of water donated by Maynilad, essential non-food items, and financial aid to displaced families and stranded passengers across various regional ports.

DSWD has provided 556,958 family food packs or assistance to 2,395,970 individuals affected by the storm in six provinces, with 60,005 families or 241,110 persons displaced and seeking shelter in evacuation centers or with relatives.

Six trucks carrying additional family food packs from the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau are being unloaded in Naga City, while eight more trucks await unloading in Legazpi City, with further shipments expected at Bicol International Airport.
