Quiboloy's lawyer demands stop to alleged illegal mining near JMC Building

KOJC Pastor Apollo Quiboloy's lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, on Sunday asked the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief to confirm and stop alleged mining and drilling operations at the Jose Maria College Building in Davao City.

Torreon said he received a photo showing police digging a tunnel at the basement of JMC Building that has reportedly reached eight meters deep and might affect building stability.

The Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) denied the allegations, with Director Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III urging Torreon to prove his claims.

Torreon also demanded an immediate halt if these activities were indeed happening, as he considers them illegal and questioned whether they are covered by the service of the arrest warrant against Quiboloy.

Eleven days into the operation, police have yet to find Quiboloy and other accused in the alleged trafficking case, but continue to believe he is at the compound.
