Groups protest Duterte's SONA at UP Diliman

Several groups from labor, transport, and education sectors will protest on Monday during President Rodrigo Duterte's fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) at UP Diliman.

The protesters will gather at 9 a.m., with the stage, sound system, and screens already set up by 7 a.m. University Avenue will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to accommodate the protest.

Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) and Piston plan to march from CP Garcia St. to UP Diliman at 8:30 a.m., then hold their main program, SONAgkaisa, at 10 a.m.

Despite authorities prohibiting mass gatherings due to the threat of COVID-19 transmission, protesters will proceed with their planned activities.
