Karding prompts Ipo, Magat dams to release excess water

Typhoon Karding prompted the opening of one gate each at the Ipo and Magat dams in Bulacan and Isabela respectively to release excess water.

On Monday morning, September 26, PAGASA reported that both dams were still releasing water with Ipo Dam's reservoir level near its normal high water level (NHWL) and Magat Dam's RWL just a few meters away from the NHWL.

President Marcos Jr. inquired about the safety of downstream residents during a situational briefing, to which PAGASA assured that preemptive measures were taken before Karding’s arrival.

Angat Dam also saw an increase in water levels but was still far from its NHWL.
