Joel Escorial surrenders in Percy Lapid's killing

Joel Escorial, 38, has voluntarily surrendered to authorities and confessed to being one of the hired killers in the murder of radio broadcaster Percival Mabasa.

Escorial turned himself in out of fear for his safety after his photo was released last week and a PHP6.5-million bounty was placed on him.

He told investigators that he, along with three others, were contracted by someone from inside the national penitentiary to kill Mabasa for P550,000, which they divided among themselves.
