Umandal leads Cignal HD to perfect start, earns Player of the Week

Jau Umandal led Cignal HD to a perfect 2-0 start in the 2025 Spikers' Turf Open Conference, earning him the Player of the Week award from the Spikers' Turf Press Corps.

Umandal scored 10 points against Alpha Insurance and followed up with an impressive 17 markers against Savouge, showcasing a spiking efficiency of 16-of-23 in their victory over the strong opponent.

Despite his success, Umandal remains focused on improving his game, crediting his teammates for their support and encouragement throughout the season.

The former University of Santo Tomas standout expressed gratitude towards his teammates and coaches for helping him maintain composure during games against tough opponents like Savouge.

Cignal HD will face VNS in Pasig on Wednesday and PGJC-Navy at Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Sunday as they continue their unbeaten streak.
