Japanese experts arrive to help with Mindoro oil spill

Japanese experts from the Japan Coast Guard arrived in the Philippines on March 10 to assist with removing an oil spill caused by a sunken motor tanker off Naujan town in Oriental Mindoro.

The team will conduct assessments and provide support for oil removal activities alongside Philippine authorities, including the Philippine Coast Guard.

Japan dispatched the eight-man Disaster Relief Expert Team at the request of the Philippines, aiming to prevent further marine contamination and restore the environment.
