Payosing joins UP, Torculas heads to San Beda

Former NCAA champion James Payosing has joined the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons basketball team, while former UP swingman Aldous Torculas has committed to play for San Beda Red Lions.

Payosing, who averaged 9.7 points and 12.7 rebounds during San Beda's championship run in Season 99, confirmed his move to UP after leaving the Red Lions following their loss in the semifinals of NCAA Season 100.

Torculas, who played for UP last season, will have to sit out one year before being eligible for two more seasons with San Beda.

Coach Goldwin Monteverde expressed excitement about Payosing joining the team and is expected to strengthen the Fighting Maroons as several key players complete their eligibility.

Payosing's acquisition marks UP's commitment to maintaining its title contention in upcoming seasons, while San Beda looks forward to Torculas' contributions after a year of residency.
