ITCZ, LPA bring rain, thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and a low-pressure area (LPA) are causing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday.

Visayas and Mindanao can expect cloudy skies, lightning, and thunder due to the LPA's trough.

Parts of Luzon will also experience rain and overcast weather due to a shear line in Bicol and northeast monsoon in Northern Luzon.

Moderate to heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides in affected areas.

Pagasa continues to monitor an LPA east of Visayas, which could develop into a tropical depression within 24 hours.
