China donates PHP7.2M for Taal eruption victims

China has donated approximately PHP7.2 million to support communities affected by the Taal volcano eruption.

The donation was handed over by Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian to DFA Undersecretary Enrique Manalo on Wednesday at the DFA headquarters in Manila.

Huang expressed sympathy for those affected and pledged more assistance to help restore normal livelihood as soon as possible.

Despite no official call from the Philippine government for international aid, other countries like South Korea have also contributed, with the South Korean ambassador donating USD200,000 (approximately PHP10 million) to the Philippine Red Cross.
