Rachel Gupta crowned Miss Grand International 2024, CJ Opiaza first runner-up

Rachel Gupta from India was crowned Miss Grand International 2024 during the event held in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday.

Gupta's predecessor, Luciana Fuster of Peru, presented her with the crown; Gupta emphasized poverty due to overpopulation and lack of resources as the most critical global issue, advocating for birth control methods and equitable distribution of resources.

CJ Opiaza from the Philippines was named first runner-up, followed by representatives from Myanmar, France, and Brazil.

During the question-and-answer segment, CJ Opiaza highlighted civil war and violence as the most pressing issue, urging kindness and respect towards one another.

Opiaza's evening gown and swimsuit performances were praised for wearing designs by Filipino designer Mak Tumang.
