Inday intensifies into severe tropical storm

Tropical Storm Inday intensified into a severe tropical storm on Friday morning.

PAGASA reported that Inday is now 800 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gustiness of 115 km/h.

Inday is moving northwest at 20 km/h and is forecast to further intensify until Sunday or early Monday before weakening outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

The trough of Inday may cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol, Quezon, and Samar provinces.
