Davao prepares for possible GCQ implementation

Davao City is preparing for a possible return to general community quarantine (GCQ) as of July 15, following an announcement by Mayor Sara Duterte.

The city's Public Safety and Security Command Center chief Angel Sumagaysay assured that the security sector is ready to support the city government if GCQ is implemented.

Mayor Duterte stated that the local government will appeal the decision based on data they have collected, but will comply if the appeal is denied.

Sumagaysay reported that 4,219 individuals have been apprehended since March 15 for violating quarantine protocols, including curfew hours and social distancing rules.
