IATF shortens quarantine period for fully vaxxed health workers

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) approved a shortened quarantine period of five days for fully vaccinated health workers infected with or exposed to COVID-19 on January 7.

Dr. Rontgene Solante, an infectious diseases specialist, stated that the decision was made to prevent healthcare facilities from being overwhelmed due to rising cases and staff shortages.

Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles announced that hospital infection prevention and control committees can implement shortened isolation protocols for fully vaccinated health workers in extreme circumstances after weighing risks and benefits.
