IATF OKs special hog lanes for pork shipments

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has approved special hog lanes to ensure unhampered passage of pork shipments from Visayas and Mindanao.

This decision aims to address supply issues and rising pork prices in Metro Manila while preventing the spread of African swine fever (ASF).

The IATF, upon recommendation by the Department of Agriculture (DA), designated a nautical highway between Luzon and Mindanao, as well as the Maharlika Highway in Luzon, as special hog lanes.

All shipments will observe science-based precautionary and quarantine measures to prevent ASF spread.
