House Committee starts RBH No. 7 debates Feb. 26, aiming for thorough discussions

The House Committee of the Whole will begin discussing Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No. 7 on proposed constitutional amendments starting Monday, February 26.

Majority Floor Leader Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe announced that hearings will take place three times a week from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., moving the start date from Feb. 21 to accommodate resource persons' schedules.

Dalipe confirmed that the committee aims to conclude deliberations before Congress adjourns on March 23 for the Lenten season break, emphasizing thorough discussions with invited experts each week.

Rep. Francisco Paulo Ortega emphasized setting a tone for healthy debates by Monday, highlighting the need for comprehensive examination of RBH No. 7's economic provisions.

Dalipe assured the public that the hearings will not be rushed and noted that some issues have been previously discussed in past congresses, stressing the Committee of the Whole's inclusivity to expedite the process.
