House rejects VP Sara Duterte's request to see detained aide

The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability rejected Vice President Sara Duterte's request to stay with Chief of Staff Zuleika Lopez, who is detained for contempt over 'undue interference' in House proceedings.

Rep. Joel Chua stated that the facility is only for those ordered detained by the House, and Duterte is a security risk.

Vice President Duterte spent the night at her brother Paolo's office despite appeals to leave the premises before visiting hours ended.

House leaders expressed concern over Duterte's defiance of House rules and urged respect for institutional protocols.
