House panel submits 1,992 names for verification in OVP CF probe

The House of Representatives Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability has submitted over 1,900 names from acknowledgment receipts (ARs) for confidential fund expenditures by the Office of the Vice President to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for verification.

Committee Chair Rep. Joel Chua stated that around 1,992 names are being verified due to the OVP's larger CF budget compared to DepEd.

The panel is investigating alleged misuse of confidential funds by both the OVP and DepEd under Vice President Sara Duterte’s leadership.

Earlier findings revealed that 405 out of 677 names from DepEd's ARs have no record with the PSA, including individuals like Mary Grace Piattos, who was confirmed to be a fictitious identity combining popular brand names.

The committee has requested for the verification of Civil Registry Documents (birth, marriage, and death) of these 1,992 individuals to determine their existence and support allegations that ARs were fabricated to justify confidential fund expenditures.
