House reaffirms support for President Marcos, vows to defend against VP Duterte’s threats

The House of Representatives reaffirmed its full support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., underscoring their commitment to defend democratic institutions and national sovereignty during a Christmas fellowship at Malacañang on Wednesday night.

Lawmakers presented a Manifesto of Support titled 'A Declaration of Unity, Loyalty, and Resolve in Defense of the Nation', signed by key leaders including Speaker Martin Romualdez, emphasizing the House's determination to uphold the Constitution and ensure national welfare.

The manifesto also addressed growing political tensions following Vice President Sara Duterte's threats against the Marcos family and her calls for mobilization against the administration.

Speaker Romualdez vowed to use the extent of their mandate to thwart any attempts to destabilize the government, specifically addressing Duterte's threats against the president and his family.

Lawmakers reaffirmed their commitment to defend the President as a symbol of national sovereignty, uphold democratic governance, and protect the nation from internal and external threats.

The House leaders issued HR No. 2092 expressing support for the president amid Vice President Sara Duterte's recent outburst threatening assassination against Romualdez, Marcos, and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.
