DTI chief urges passing economic bills instead of Cha-Cha

Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez urged lawmakers on Friday to pass pending economic reform measures instead of pursuing Charter Change.

House Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez called for the early approval by the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments of proposed amendments to ease foreign equity restrictions in the Constitution.

Rodriguez said these amendments were fully discussed in previous Congresses and have received overwhelming support from resource persons during recent hearings.
