Hopson hits game-winning shot, sealing Converge's win over Terrafirma

Scotty Hopson hit a game-winning four-pointer with just 2.5 seconds left to help Converge secure a narrow 100-99 victory over Terrafirma in the PBA Governors' Cup on Saturday, September 14.

This marks the second time Hopson has won a game for his team from beyond the arc, having previously done so against TNT earlier in the conference.

Hopson's crucial shot came after he was scoreless throughout much of the fourth quarter and despite nursing a hamstring injury; he finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Schonny Winston played a vital role in keeping Converge alive by scoring 13 of his 19 points in the final period, including key baskets that brought the FiberXers within striking distance.

Terrafirma's Antonio Hester had an impressive game with 28 points and 11 rebounds but missed a potential winning shot at the buzzer as Terrafirma fell to 0-8 and out of playoff contention.

Converge improved to 4-4, while Meralco clinched a quarterfinals slot by defeating NorthPort, 114-104, earlier in the day.
