Heat Index 43°C, rain showers across country

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the Heat Index in Metro Manila remains dangerously high at 43°C.

Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected across the country due to easterly winds and localized thunderstorms, which could lead to flash floods or landslides during severe storms.

To prevent heat-related illnesses such as heat cramps, exhaustion, and stroke, PAGASA advises limiting outdoor activities, drinking plenty of water, wearing protective clothing, and scheduling strenuous tasks for cooler times of the day.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds moving from east to southeast with slight to moderate coastal waters.
