Philippines records high heat indexes, PAGASA warns of health risks

On Wednesday, May 20, Legazpi City recorded the highest heat index at 50°C, followed by Sangley Point in Cavite with 47°C.

PAGASA warned that a heat index between 41°C and 54°C can cause heat cramps and exhaustion, potentially leading to heat stroke if physical activity continues.

Previously, on Sunday, May 17, Roxas City recorded the highest heat index at 45°C, with other cities like Ambulong in Tanauan and Cavite's Sangley Point recording 44°C.
