Gumabao wins first PVL MVP, Negrito claims Best Setter

Volleyball veteran Michele Gumabao has won her first Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) during the 2024 Invitational Conference.

Gumabao, who topped local scorers with 59 points from 52 attacks, four aces, and three blocks, contributed significantly to Creamline's Grand Slam victory over Cignal in the final match.

Her efficiency was highlighted by a 37.96 percent success rate in spiking and an average of 0.29 aces per set in serving, making her a key player for Creamline throughout the tournament.

In addition to Gumabao's MVP award, teammate Kyle Negrito won her second Best Setter title, while Saya Taniguchi of Kurashiki was named the Best Opposite Spiker.

Other notable awards went to Cignal’s MJ Perez and Creamline’s Erica Staunton as the Best Outside Spikers, Jackie Acuña of Cignal and Low Mei Cing of Kurashiki received the Best Middle Blocker award, and Est Cola's Kalyarat Khamwong was honored with the Best Libero title.
