Gov't encourages wearing face shields in public

The government is encouraging the public to wear face shields in poorly ventilated public spaces to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that while there is no order yet, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Diseases (IATF-EID) is considering directing the public to use face shields alongside masks in low ventilation settings such as public transportation.

Trade Secretary Mon Lopez also mentioned a study showing that wearing both masks and face shields can prevent up to 99% of potential transmission, making it an extra step for prevention.
