Firms start screening employees for COVID-19

Several private firms have begun screening their employees for COVID-19 as restrictions under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) ease.

Globe Telecom, in particular, has started weekly rapid antibody testing of its frontline employees, equivalent to 15% of its workforce.

The company plans to test an additional 5% of staff as it reopens stores and increases personnel for network maintenance.

Renato Jiao, Globe's chief human resource officer, emphasized the importance of employee and public safety, stating that positive results from rapid tests will lead to more extensive testing.
