Gilas Pilipinas Youth starts FIBA U16 Asia Cup qualifiers against Vietnam

The Gilas Pilipinas Youth team is competing in the FIBA U16 Asia Cup Seaba qualifiers from May 23 to 30, 2025, hosted by the Philippines at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando City.

Coached by Barangay Ginebra veteran LA Tenorio and assisted by Gabe Norwood and Richard del Rosario, Gilas Pilipinas Youth aims not only to secure a spot in the FIBA U16 Asia Cup but also to build a developmental pathway for future national teams.

The team faces its first match against Vietnam on May 24 at 7pm, with subsequent matches scheduled against Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

The roster includes standout players from UAAP and NCAA programs such as Carl Delos Reyes, Jolo Pascual, Chris Paul Miranda, Prince Cariño, Everaigne Cruz, Jhello Lumague, John Restificar, Andwele Cabañero, and Jhustin Hallare.

Gilas Pilipinas Youth is focused on consistency in defensive concepts while recognizing the high skill level of its players.
