Gilas faces Chinese Taipei, New Zealand in FIBA Asia Cup

Gilas Pilipinas will face Chinese Taipei in their opening game of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 on August 6, followed by a match against New Zealand on August 7.

The games will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with Gilas playing its final Group D game against Iraq on August 9.

Gilas has previously faced both Chinese Taipei and New Zealand during the qualifiers, including a historic win over New Zealand in November 2024 but later losing to them in Auckland.

The top team from each group advances directly to the quarterfinals, while second and third seeds must compete in a qualification round for a chance at the final eight spots.

Gilas aims to improve on their ninth-place finish in the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup held in Indonesia.
