Gilas Pilipinas routs Malaysia in SEA Games opener

Gilas Pilipinas opened its Southeast Asian Games campaign with a dominant 94-49 victory over Malaysia on Tuesday, May 9.

Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser led all scorers with 15 points and five rebounds, while Michael Phillips contributed nine points, 15 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks in his national team debut.

Justin Brownlee, a naturalized player making his SEA Games debut, added 11 points and four rebounds.

Coach Chot Reyes praised the first group for setting a strong example and getting the team off to a good start.
