Gilas Pilipinas arrives in Jeddah for FIBA Asia Cup

Gilas Pilipinas has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia ahead of the FIBA Asia Cup, which will run from August 5 to 17.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced on Thursday a 12-man lineup for the tournament where Gilas aims to win the gold medal.

Players present include AJ Edu, Calvin Oftana, Carl Tamayo, Chris Newsome, Dwight Ramos, Jamie Malonzo, Japeth Aguilar, June Mar Fajardo, Justin Brownlee, Kevin Quiambao, and Scottie Thompson.

Head coach Tim Cone along with assistants Jong Uichico, Richard Del Rosario, and Sean Chambers are also in attendance.

Gilas Pilipinas will play Chinese Taipei on August 6 at 2:00 a.m. (Philippine time), New Zealand on August 7 at 11:00 p.m., and Iraq on August 9 at 4:00 p.m.
