Gilas Pilipinas beats Iraq, 66-57, advances to quarterfinals

The win was crucial after back-to-back losses to Chinese Taipei and New Zealand put Gilas in a must-win situation against Iraq; guard Dwight Ramos emphasized that this victory is a confidence-boosting one as they head into the knockout stage.

Dwight Ramos led Gilas with a game-high 21 points, particularly scoring 10 crucial points in the third quarter to maintain their lead.
