Garin pushes second COVID-19 booster shots for general public

Lawmaker Janette Garin is pushing for the government to provide second COVID-19 booster shots to the general public.

Garin argues that additional protection is needed due to emerging omicron subvariants and expiring vaccine supplies.

She notes that other countries have shown benefits of two booster doses, especially among those 50 years old and above and those with comorbidities.

Currently, second boosters are only available for health workers, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals.
