Gandler named PVL Press Corps Player of the Week

Vanie Gandler, a standout sophomore from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), continued her impressive performance in Cignal's opening game of the 2024 All-Filipino Conference on Saturday.

Gandler scored a team-high 19 points with 17 attacks, one ace, and one block, helping Cignal defeat Akari Chargers in four sets despite playing through a short preparation period.

Despite being surrounded by experienced players like Ces Molina, Jovelyn Gonzaga, and Roselyn Doria, Gandler quickly established herself as a key player from the start of the season.

For her strong performance, Gandler was named the inaugural PVL Press Corps Player of the Week for February 20 to 24, beating out other top players like Tots Carlos and Savie Davison.

Gandler acknowledged that with increased scrutiny from opponents, she must think creatively and improve further to maintain her success in future matches.

The young spiker expressed satisfaction with her team's performance despite a short preparation time and noted the importance of staying healthy as they face bigger challenges ahead.
