Pfizer vaccine limited to NCR, Cebu, Davao due to storage needs

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine may not be available in all provinces due to the lack of ultracold-storage facilities.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. and presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stated that only National Capital Region (NCR), Cebu, and Davao have the necessary storage capabilities for the Pfizer vaccine.

Galvez noted during a Senate probe that pharmaceutical companies in these areas are equipped with such storage facilities.

Roque cited US experiences where vaccines were wasted due to difficulties maintaining cold chain conditions from factory to delivery.
