Galeries Tower, San Juan win big in WMPBL

Galeries Tower and San Juan secured convincing victories in the Women's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on Wednesday night at the Ynares Sports Center.

Cindy Resultay led Galeries Tower to a dominant 102-46 win over Centro Escolar University Lady Scorpions, scoring 16 points with eight rebounds, four assists, and five steals. Rachel Lacayanga contributed significantly in the first half with 16 points.

San Juan defeated Solar Home Suns by a score of 75-39, with Annick Edimo Tiky recording a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Rejoice Adlawan adding 12 points and nine rebounds.

Both teams are now tied for the lead in Group B alongside Imus, New Zealand-Bluefire, and University of Sto. Tomas after their first game victories.

Galeries Tower's head coach Ai Lebornio expressed gratitude for showcasing women's basketball talent, as it was their first WMPBL appearance.

San Juan's head coach Christopher John Tolentino acknowledged a strong performance but noted areas needing improvement in both offense and defense.
