FIVB chief confident in PH hosting 2025 men's volleyball world champ

FIVB President Fabio Azevedo expressed confidence in the Philippines' hosting of the 2025 FIVB men's volleyball world championship during his visit to the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) office on Thursday.

Azevedo praised the country's past success in organizing major events and highlighted athletes' appreciation for Filipino hospitality, noting that logistics are well-prepared and commended President Ramon Suzara and his team for their experience and leadership.

The Philippines will host a series of activities leading up to the tournament, including World Volleyball Day on Monday and the Fifth Southeast Asia Volleyball League starting this Wednesday in Candon City.

Suzara acknowledged there is still work to be done but emphasized the team's commitment to delivering a world-class event, stressing the importance of government and private sector support in the remaining 73 days before the tournament.

Azevedo encouraged Filipinos to take advantage of the rare opportunity to see top volleyball teams and athletes during the championship and highlighted the accessibility and engagement opportunities for casual fans.
