Fisherman rescued after banca capsizes off Subic

A fisherman named Lindo Sumalilo was rescued by authorities on Sunday after his motorized banca capsized in waters off Subic, Zambales.

Sumalilo was one of three fishermen who went missing when MV Sao Heaven reported the incident to the Philippine Coast Guard at around 10:29 a.m.

The two other missing fishermen are 54-year-old Rimoot and 40-year-old Tabios.

BRP Suluan conducted search and rescue operations while en route to Bajo de Masinloc, rescuing Sumalilo in the process.

Sumalilo's boat had left Subic for Cabra Island when the accident occurred, according to his account.

The PCG is continuing its efforts to locate the two missing fishermen and coordinating with other vessels in the area.
