DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III stated that such measures are preferable to employee layoffs or business closures.

Undersecretary Ana Dione clarified that implementing these flexible working hours is not mandatory but recommended as a temporary measure.

Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay urged companies, especially in the tourism sector, to adopt flexible work schemes to save jobs affected by travel restrictions.
