VP Robredo to get vaccine publicly; Duterte willing but not televised

Vice President Leni Robredo will receive the COVID-19 vaccine publicly to boost public confidence.

Robredo's spokesperson Ibarra Gutierrez said she declared her willingness to get vaccinated as early as December.

President Rodrigo Duterte is also willing to take the vaccine but not in a televised ceremony, following Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II example.

Harry Roque Jr., presidential spokesperson, stated that Duterte will follow guidelines and vaccinate when available, prioritizing frontliners and vulnerable sectors.

Robredo emphasized Filipinos have the right to choose their COVID-19 vaccine due to health control, urging effective communication from officials to ease public doubts.
