FEU wins 3-1 against UST, extends streak to five

Defending champion Far Eastern University (FEU) extended its winning streak to five matches and secured first place in the UAAP Season 86 men's football tournament with a 3-1 victory over University of Santo Tomas on Sunday.

Despite opening their title defense with a loss, FEU has won five consecutive games since then, including a come-from-behind win against UST at UP Diliman Football Stadium.

TJ Garciano scored for UST in the 56th minute, but Mel Anthony Baylon equalized for FEU in the 74th minute, followed by Martini Rey's goal in the 85th minute and Andre Yu's stoppage-time clincher.

FEU coach Alberto Besa praised his team's resilience and winning mentality, noting their refusal to accept defeat.

UST remains outside the Final Four spots with seven points, while FEU leads the tournament with 15 points and a plus-9 goal difference.
