FEU wins chess match, maintains perfect record

Far Eastern University maintained its perfect record in the UAAP Season 87 women's chess tournament with a decisive 4-0 victory over Adamson University on Wednesday.

FEU has now won two consecutive matches by shutout, securing four match points and leading the standings.

Key contributors to FEU’s success were Woman National Masters Mhage Sebastian, Vic Glysen Derotas, Mary Joy Tan, and Samantha Umayan, who each secured full points in their respective games.

Ateneo de Manila University also performed well with a 3-1 win over the University of the Philippines, moving into second place with four match points.

De La Salle University secured a narrow 2.5-1.5 victory against University of Santo Tomas to join FEU and Ateneo at four match points.

Round 4 of the tournament is set for Saturday, October 19, where top teams will aim to continue their strong performances.
