Estrada seeks Senate probe into De Lima hostage-taking

Senator Jinggoy Estrada has filed Senate Resolution 258 seeking an investigation into the hostage-taking incident involving former Senator Leila de Lima at the PNP Custodial Center on Sunday.

Estrada emphasized that while police officers acted swiftly to rescue De Lima, the incident reflects poorly on the PNP's ability to maintain security and public safety.

Minority senators Koko Pimentel and Risa Hontiveros have also filed a resolution urging the PNP to ensure De Lima’s safety and keep the Senate informed about measures taken for her protection.
