Senate sets July 30 for Sara Duterte's impeachment trial start

Escudero confirmed that official preparations will begin on June 2 when prosecutors present the Articles of Impeachment and senators approve revised rules.

The Senate is expected to issue a summons to Duterte on June 4, with pre-trial proceedings scheduled from June 14-24 for exchanging legal pleadings.

Security measures, logistical arrangements, and legal preparations are being implemented to ensure an efficient trial process starting July 30.

Escudero emphasized the Senate's commitment to due process and impartiality, assuring the public of a professional and transparent proceeding.

The House of Representatives transmitted the verified impeachment complaint against Duterte on February 5, initiating the Senate's role as Impeachment Court.
