Escudero: No resolution filed to dismiss Duterte impeachment

Senate President Francis Escudero stated on Monday that no resolution has been filed to dismiss the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Escudero emphasized at a press conference that without a filed resolution, there is no action for the Senate to take regarding the impeachment proceedings.

Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa and Senator Robin Padilla admitted to having draft resolutions but have not yet filed them.

Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros and Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel III plan to push for the start of preliminary procedures during Monday's plenary session.

Escudero also noted that the impeachment court will decide on how long the trial would last, rejecting calls to rush or prolong the process.
