Eraserheads opens UAAP Season 87 with iconic hits

Legendary OPM band Eraserheads and a lineup of other notable acts opened UAAP Season 87 at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, September 7, uniting generations through their iconic music.

The concert featured hits like 'Alapaap' and concluded with an extended version of 'Ang Huling El Bimbo,' delighting a crowd of 7,429 spectators from Gen X to Gen Z.

Eraserheads members Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Raymund Marasigan, and Marcus Adoro performed seven songs including 'Sembreak,' 'Ligaya,' 'Pare Ko,' 'Minsan,' 'Magasin,' and an encore of 'Ang Huling El Bimbo,' eliciting loud cheers and sing-alongs from the audience.

Other acts included UP Symphony Orchestra, indie musician Johnoy Danao, Maroon 4 featuring alumni members of Slapshock, Franco, and Moonstar88 performing 'Come Together,' UPeepz, P-Pop unit Kaia, Kontra Gapi, and the UP College of Arts and Letters' ethnic Music and Dance Ensemble.

UP president Carlo Vistan II officially opened the games prior to Eraserheads' performance, emphasizing unity and excellence within the UAAP community.
