Tropical Storm Enteng causes fire, vessels aground in Navotas

Strong waves caused by Tropical Storm Enteng affected ships moored in Navotas City on Monday, leading to a fire aboard one vessel and four others running aground at the coastal dike.

On Tuesday, a barge named Karangalan 2 ran aground off Pondohan, Tangos North, Navotas City due to broken forward ropes and strong winds from the storm.

Rescue efforts for affected vessels continue with the Philippine Coast Guard responding to tow the adrift vessel towards a safer place and later anchoring it in Tanza.

Residents living near the coast and dike have been advised to evacuate by local officials to ensure their safety, as Tropical Storm Enteng continues to bring strong winds and waves.

Metro Manila, including Navotas, remains under storm wind signal number 1 with PAGASA reporting that TCWS No. 2 has been raised over parts of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
