Enrile warns INC rally logic could undermine rule of law, Marcos rejects VP’s impeachment

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile warned that following the logic implied during the Iglesia Ni Cristo's (INC) National Rally for Peace could set a detrimental precedent.

Enrile questioned whether the INC has the authority to amend or suspend constitutional provisions and if the nation is prepared to compromise rule of law, expressing these views in a Facebook post.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin stated that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. values diverse viewpoints within the Cabinet but remains steadfast against Duterte's impeachment, saying he seriously considers Enrile’s stance.

Marcos reiterated his position that he would not support any impeachment moves against Vice President Sara Duterte, asserting it would not benefit the Filipino people.

Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña urged the House of Representatives to uphold its integrity and move forward with the impeachment of the Vice President during a mass event on Thursday.
