DFA repatriates 410 Filipinos from Lebanon in largest single flight

The DFA facilitated the largest single mass repatriation flight in Philippine history, bringing back 410 Filipinos from Lebanon on July 12.

Many of these Filipinos had lived in Lebanon for years and were beneficiaries of the embassy's voluntary mass repatriation program which began in December 2019.

The DFA has now sent home a total of 1,433 Filipinos through 16 flights under this program, with all travel expenses covered by the Philippine Embassy.

Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Bernardita Catalla, who spearheaded the repatriation efforts, passed away in April due to complications from COVID-19.
