EJ Obiena wins Philippine Pole Vault Challenge

Filipino Olympian pole vaulter EJ Obiena won the inaugural Philippine Pole Vault Challenge held at Vermosa Sports Hub in Cavite on a rainy Tuesday night.

Obiena achieved a season-best jump of 5.80 meters, securing his victory despite unfavorable weather conditions.

Chinese Taipei's Yan-Han Wu came in second with a mark of 5.15 meters, followed by Filipino pole vaulter Hokett Delos Santos who also cleared the same height for bronze.

Obiena expressed happiness about his performance on social media, noting it was at his home training facility and thanking everyone for their support despite the rain.

The event took place as Obiena had recently finished fifth in Shanghai and seventh in Xiamen during the Diamond League.
