Eighteen Pinoys test positive for COVID-19 in Shanghai

Eighteen Filipinos in Shanghai, China tested positive for COVID-19, with five already discharged.

Consul General Josel Ignacio stated that only Shanghai authorities have access to patient information and that some Filipinos wish to return home but are restricted by travel limitations.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announced a potential financial assistance of $200 or over P10,000 for each affected overseas Filipino worker.

Previously, seven more Filipinos tested positive, bringing the total active cases to 14 with three discharged; new infections in Shanghai have been declining.
